iRacing 2026 Season 3 — Full breakdown of release 2026.06.09.01
iRacing has officially raised the green flag on 2026 Season 3 with the release of build 2026.06.09.01, one of the service's four major annual updates. The season officially begins on June 16th, 2026 at 0000 UTC, delivering a sweeping package of new content, features, and improvements that touch virtually every corner of the platform: new vehicles, brand-new or completely rebuilt circuits, the long-awaited arrival of AI racing on Dirt Ovals, new in-sim UI widgets, and major technical upgrades to networking, physics, and the overall racing experience.
New vehicles: two headline additions
The core of the new car content is represented by two completely new models making their debut on the service.
The BMW M2 Racing (G87) brings the competition version of the current M2 to iRacing — a compact road car transformed into an accessible and entertaining racing machine designed to bring more drivers closer to the reality of circuit racing. Its introduction comes with full wet weather support, highlighting its versatile nature.
The EURO NASCAR V8GT is the other major newcomer: a vehicle that brings the spirit of the NASCAR format to European roads, pairing a V8 engine with a GT aesthetic. It too supports rain conditions from its very first appearance on the service, and is available for AI battles from day one.
Formula Vee: two new body styles celebrating grassroots racing
The Formula Vee, a historic symbol of grassroots motorsport worldwide, gains two new body variants: the Cutlass and the Conqueror. These two new body styles capture the international and authentic spirit of amateur racing, expanding the customisation and representation options within one of iRacing's most beloved entry-level categories. Both variants support wet weather driving and are available for AI racing.
New circuits: California takes centre stage
Season 3 brings a major geographical headline, with California featuring prominently through two key venues.
Qualcomm Circuit (Naval Base Coronado) makes its world debut on iRacing. Located on the Coronado Naval Base in California, this is a completely new track for the platform and one of the most anticipated additions of the season.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has been fully rebuilt from the ground up using new laser scan data and updated artwork. One of the most beloved and iconic circuits in the United States returns to iRacing in an entirely new form, delivering levels of fidelity and detail that are unprecedented on the platform.
Track updates: new configs and refreshed visuals
On the existing track update front, Charlotte Motor Speedway receives a brand-new configuration: Rallycross - Dirt Road, adding an off-road variant to the already diverse offering at this iconic American oval facility.
Chicagoland Speedway and Oran Park Raceway both receive major art updates, significantly modernising the visual appearance of these venues and bringing them in line with the platform's contemporary standards.
Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours and Motorsport Arena Oschersleben benefit from the introduction of fully 3D modelled curbs, a visual and physical improvement that considerably increases realism at the track boundary transitions.
The Dynamic Track System also receives targeted updates: dust parameters, rain drainage systems, and the behaviour of solar energy on the asphalt surface have all been revised, making the dynamic surface even more realistic and responsive to environmental conditions.
AI Racing on Dirt Ovals: the wait is over
One of the most anticipated announcements of the season is the arrival of AI Racing on Dirt Oval tracks. AI opponents are now available at twelve Dirt Oval configurations, including Bristol Motor Speedway Dirt, Eldora Speedway, Fairbury Speedway, Huset's Speedway, Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway, Lanier National Speedway, Lernerville Speedway, Limaland Motorsports Park, Lucas Oil Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and The Dirt Track at Charlotte. The vehicles available for AI dirt oval racing are the Dirt Street Stock and the Dirt Legends Ford '34 Coupe.
Beyond the dirt, AI also expands with seven new cars on paved surfaces: the BMW M2 Racing (G87), the EURO NASCAR V8GT, both Formula Vee variants (Cutlass and Conqueror), the Pontiac Solstice and its Rookie version, and the Radical SR8. Four new tracks join the AI roster as well: all three Combined configurations at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
With the introduction of AI on dirt ovals, Heat Racing support for AI opponents has been made available, completing the competitive format experience for this uniquely American short track tradition.
Car updates: full refreshes and technical details
The NASCAR Whelen Tour Modified and SK receive a complete vehicle refresh, with entirely new visual models and brand-new tyres, bringing these iconic short-track racing machines fully up to the platform's modern standards.
The GT3, GT4, and GTE classes continue their seasonal class-wide updates, pushing the vehicles ever closer to their real-world counterparts in terms of physics and behaviour.
The BMW M Hybrid V8 is updated to the Evo model, reflecting the prototype's real-world evolution in top-level motorsport.
The Dallara IR18 receives ramp flaps and the Indy 500 body wicker configuration, allowing drivers to faithfully replicate the setup used at the world's most famous oval.
The Porsche 911 Cup (992.2) receives the characteristic "X tape" applied to the wheel arches, a detail typical of real-world race configurations.
Short track asphalt oval cars benefit from targeted drafting improvements, the result of a lengthy cycle of testing and tuning aimed at making close-quarters racing more realistic and engaging.
The pit speed limiter also receives an update, with more precise programming of the rules and mechanisms for a pit stop experience that more closely mirrors reality.
New network infrastructure: Anycast routing
On the technology front, one of the most significant updates in Season 3 concerns the Race Server infrastructure. Anycast routing has been introduced, adding Anycast-announced endpoints to the Race Servers. In practice, this system allows a player's connection to enter the iRacing network through the geographically closest access point, even when the race server itself is located on the other side of the world. This bypasses long-distance routing over public infrastructure, reducing latency and improving connection stability during race sessions.
New Sim UI widgets and features
The in-sim interface gains three new widgets: Track Map (available in four variants), Fuel Calculator, and Incident Tracker. These tools, now available directly during driving sessions, deliver essential information without ever having to leave the virtual cockpit.
The Controls Profiles feature also makes its debut, allowing drivers to configure, save, and quickly load different control setups directly from within the sim, without needing to exit the session. Other interface updates include Tire Compounds display support, a Drag-to-Resize function for resizing widgets by dragging, Unicode support for international character sets, and a new What's New section to keep drivers up to date with the latest changes.
iRacing Launcher: new features and new languages
The iRacing Launcher is updated with a new Series Discovery interface, designed to help players navigate the available championships and more easily find the series that best match their interests and driving style.
The Series-Specific Sporting Regulations & Branding feature has been introduced, allowing real-world technical and sporting regulations to be applied on a per-series basis, bringing select events even closer to their real-life counterparts.
Finally, a significant addition for the Asian market: the Launcher now supports Simplified Chinese, opening the doors of iRacing to an even wider global community.
Conclusion
iRacing 2026 Season 3 stands as one of the most content-rich and comprehensive seasonal updates in recent memory. AI on dirt ovals, two compelling new vehicles, a ground-up rebuild of Laguna Seca, Anycast network routing, expanded in-sim widgets, and widespread technical updates across every category confirm the direction of a service that never stops evolving. June 16th marks the official start of a new season — time to get on track.
