Automobilista 2 V1.6.9.9 è Ora Disponibile — Fisica, IA sotto la Pioggia e Nuovo DLC
Automobilista 2 V1.6.9.9 Now Live — Physics, Wet AI Lines and New DLC
Reiza Studios has released update V1.6.9.9 for Automobilista 2, bringing a new batch of physics and AI developments, substantial visual improvements for wet and changing conditions, and a new pack of mid-2000s GT cars as part of the Historical Endurance Pack Pt2 DLC. As is tradition with AMS2, the new DLC content will remain free for all users during the initial release days; the DLC store page on Steam will go live on Monday, as the platform does not allow DLC releases on weekends.
Users encountering issues with V1.6.9.9 or those with an imminent league race can remain on the previous V1.6.9.81 build by selecting the previousbuild branch under AMS2 Properties on Steam in the Beta section.
V1.7 Physics Revisions — Progress Update
General physics revisions for all classes in the simulator have been in progress since early in the year, with the goal of completing them for the V1.7 release during Q3 2026. As of V1.6.9.9, the classes with full or advanced revisions are numerous, ranging from LMDh/GTP and LMP2 to DPi, GT1, GT3, GTE, GT4, all Brazilian Stock Car categories, historic single-seaters such as F-Vintage, F-Retro and F-Classic, modern single-seaters including F-V10, F-V8, F-Hybrid and F-USA, and numerous trophy categories including the Porsche Cup, Lamborghini Huracán and Maserati Trofeo. Even classes already listed remain subject to further adjustments ahead of the final V1.7 release.
AI Wet Lines
One of the most significant new features in this update is the introduction of AI wet lines: in wet track conditions, the AI can now explore the grippier areas outside the heavily rubbered racing line, which becomes slippery when wet. Since these lines must be created manually, they will be introduced gradually up to the V1.7 release. As of V1.6.9.9, circuits already equipped with dedicated AI wet lines include: Barcelona variants (1991, 1999, 2001, GP no chicane and National), Hungaroring, Imola variants (1972, 1988, 2001, 2005 and modern layout), Interlagos variants (1991, 1993, GP and SCB), Monza 2005, and Spa-Francorchamps variants (1993, 2005, 2005 EC, 2020 and 2022).
This update also integrates the visual improvements to wet and evolving conditions previously previewed in a dedicated video.
Content — Historical Endurance Pack Pt2
The new DLC expands the GT1 2005 class with the Lister Storm GTM and Saleen S7-R, and introduces a brand new GT2 2005 class featuring the Spyker C8 GT2-R, Panoz Esperante GTLM, and TVR T400R. The GTR 2004 class gains the Gillet Vertigo Streiff, while the Maserati Grandsport joins the Maserati Trofeo roster. Available free for all users: the Milano 55 GT1 for the GT1 2005 class.
General
Various lighting, shader, and texture adjustments have been made to improve the visual presentation in changing weather conditions and as track conditions evolve. The particle opacity for diffuser and wheel spray particles has been adjusted to bring them more in line with each other.
UI and HUD
Fixed an issue where the Indianapolis 2005 RC variant was incorrectly labelled as an Oval in the German localisation.
Physics
Further V1.7 tyre, aero, and default setup revisions continue for the classes listed in the update notes. Fuel tank position has been revised for F-Classic, F-HiTech, 2005 GT, and LMP cars. A missing default option for the intermediate compound has been added to the McLaren MP4/12.
AI
The new multi-stint fuel strategy logic has been enabled for timed races. Support for AI wet lines has been added, allowing the AI to avoid the slippery heavily rubbered zones when the track is wet. AI defensive moves during the first lap of a race have been enabled. Minor adjustments to AI aero setups on various high-speed circuits. Further general adjustments to AI brake overtaking aggression rates and lateral movement rates when overtaking and defending. Further calibration passes to all classes with V1.7 physics revisions.
Audio
Puddle splash sound effects have been adjusted. Occasional sound artefacts with small and medium-sized crowds have been fixed. Artefacts in external camera replay for some stiffly sprung cars have been corrected.
Tracks
Barcelona: fixed a small gap in the terrain.
