Automobilista V1.6.9.3 Now Live

A new update completes the release cycle with fixes and improvements

The developers of Automobilista have released version 1.6.9.3, an update bringing an important series of fixes and improvements. According to the team's statement, barring any unforeseen issues, this should wrap up the current update cycle.

General Improvements

The update resolves some critical issues that were affecting game stability. In particular, the annoying Sun flickering occurring on AMD GPUs has been eliminated, a problem that was disturbing the gaming experience for many users. Virtual reality users will also benefit from significant improvements: the aliasing issue affecting trees and scenery with medium to fast head movement when using TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing) has been fixed. Finally, a bug that could cause the game to freeze when watching a replay after the player drove back to an alternate garage path has been resolved.

User Interface and HUD

For users playing on monitors with non-standard or older resolutions, this update brings significant visual improvements. Various graphical anomalies affecting UI panels and buttons have been corrected, particularly noticeable when displayed at 5:4 aspect ratios and/or resolutions below 1080p.

Physics and Handling

The physics model has received a series of targeted refinements. Minor adjustments have been made to formula tread hardness in intermediate and extreme compounds, while wetness sensitivity has been revised for semi-slick, all-weather, and vintage treads. The Stock Car V8 2023 and 2024 have benefited from further tread optimizations.

Regarding vehicle setups, the Dodge Viper ACR, Audi R8 V10 GT, and Maserati GT2 Stradale have received modifications to brakes, differential, and anti-roll bar stiffness. The bumpstop range setting has also been removed for these models.

Artificial Intelligence

The AI has received an important calibration pass for several vehicles, including the Audi R8 V10 GT, Dodge Viper ACR, Stock Car V8 from 2020 to 2024, and the F-Junior. These adjustments should make races against artificial intelligence more competitive and realistic.

Audio

The audio department sees the correction of a crackling issue on the center channel for 5.1 output configurations. The Maserati GT2 Stradale will no longer present the interior engine sound error during replays, while the Aston Martin Valkyrie has received adjustments to startup and idle sounds.

Numerous circuits have received fixes and improvements:

• Cascais: Fixed rain falling within covered areas
• Guapore: Rebuilt pit building shadow object
• Imola 1972: Fixed garage building shadow; increased grid and garage capacity to 39 opponents
• Oulton Park International: Increased grid and garage capacity to 41 opponents
• Spielberg Historic: Relocated safety car parking; fixed parking clearance issue on the pit lane extension

Vehicles

Several cars have received specific fixes:

• Audi R8 V10 GT: Fixed front bumper collision
• Puma GTE: Fixed collision mesh joint sub-object name issue
• F-Junior: Reduced visual exhaust backfiring
• Sigma P1 and McLaren MP4/4: Cockpit POV adjusted to standard
