RaceRoom Racing Experience: Patch Notes - December 5th, 2025 - FFB Updates and Car Revisions
KW Studios has released a significant update for RaceRoom Racing Experience (Client Version 0.9.7.38, BuildID 21065392), distributed between December 4th and 5th, 2025. The patch, followed by a swift hotfix, focuses on optimizing Force Feedback (FFB) for various hardware, resolving critical issues, and refining the physics for DTM and GT3 class cars.
Key Updates for Wheels and Force Feedback (FFB)
The update introduces targeted improvements for several steering peripherals, ensuring a more accurate and stable FFB experience:
-
Thrustmaster SDK: The game has been updated to the latest Thrustmaster Software Development Kit (SDK). Users are reminded to install the latest Thrustmaster app to update firmware and drivers, which is necessary for telemetry to function correctly.
-
VNM Wheelbases: Issues related to stationary friction (damper effect) have been fixed, and the spring-based lock has been turned off. A brief 0.1-second pause has been implemented when FFB effects are recreated during gameplay pausing/unpausing, resolving an issue where FFB would become odd after resuming. (Hotfix Note: Spring effects were subsequently re-enabled).
-
Asetek Wheelbases: Vendor-specific lock has been allowed for Asetek bases.
-
FFB Consistency: Force Feedback forces are now consistent regardless of the steering range selected in the car setup. This eliminates the issue where FFB would become excessively strong and compressed with low steering range values.
Physics, Audio, and Stability Improvements
-
Turbo Physics: A bug in the turbo code where pressure built from engine load instead of throttle has been fixed. This correction eliminates the constant play of blowoff valve sounds when applying constant throttle input.
-
Stability: Fixes for the remaining user-reported game crashes have been implemented, ensuring greater stability. (Including a hotfix to prevent the DTM 2003 AMG from crashing on load).
-
Tire Sounds: A feature was added to boost tire screech sounds for very light cars or those with very low loads (initially applied to the Formula Junior, user feedback is welcome).
Car-Specific Updates
-
Current Generation GT3 Cars: The GT3 class received a major overhaul:
-
Adjustments to Aero balances, Center of Gravity (CoG) heights, and Front/Rear balances for greater accuracy.
-
Reduced minimum ride heights (from 37.5 to 35mm) to optimize underbody functionality.
-
Improved accuracy of suspension kinematics and implemented more precise spring/damper setups.
-
Updated gear change light behaviour.
-
-
AMG-Mercedes CLK DTM 2003: The car's physics have been updated to align with the recently introduced 2002 model.
-
Porsche #92 DTM 2025: (Hotfix) Fixed the colour of the vehicle's "beauty lights."
