Ferrari F2004 Comes to Assetto Corsa EVO: The Return of a Formula 1 Legend
Ferrari F2004 Comes to Assetto Corsa EVO: The Return of a Formula 1 Legend
Kunos Simulazioni releases new trailer for Assetto Corsa EVO Update 3, revealing the inclusion of Michael Schumacher's iconic Ferrari F2004
The sim racing community can finally rejoice: Kunos Simulazioni has officially confirmed the arrival of the Ferrari F2004 in Assetto Corsa EVO. The new trailer for the simulator's Update 3 has revealed what is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and dominant single-seaters in Formula 1 history.
A Legend Returns Home
The Ferrari F2004 is not just a race car: it's a symbol of excellence and sporting dominance. This single-seater wrote unforgettable pages in Formula 1 history, leading Michael Schumacher to capture his seventh and final world championship in 2004 with extraordinary performances.
The numbers speak for themselves: 13 victories out of 18 races contested, with a total of 15 podiums that cemented the legend of both the German driver and the Maranello Red. The F2004 represents the pinnacle of the Ferrari-Schumacher era of dominance, a period that redefined excellence standards in Formula 1.
Technical Details and Game Innovations
The new trailer doesn't just show the F2004 in action, but also reveals significant technical innovations for Assetto Corsa EVO. One of the most interesting features shown in the video is the simulation of brake lock-up with consequent flat-spot formation on tires, a functionality previously available only in Automobilista 2.
This addition represents an important step forward in simulation realism, allowing players to experience the real consequences of overly aggressive braking, just as happens in real Formula 1.
Other Update 3 Content
Assetto Corsa EVO's Update 3 is not limited to the Ferrari F2004. The trailer confirmed the inclusion of other previously announced vehicles:
- Dallara Stradale: The Italian supercar that brings Formula 1 experience to the road
- BMW M3 E30: The iconic German sports sedan from the 1980s
This variety of content demonstrates Kunos' commitment to providing a complete driving experience, ranging from single-seaters to the most exclusive road cars.
The Update Delay: A Quality Choice
Update 3 was originally scheduled for July 2025, but Kunos Simulazioni had to postpone the release. In an official statement, the team explained: "We are fully aware you are waiting for the third Early Access release of Assetto Corsa EVO. In the last few weeks, we've encountered some challenges that led us to invest more time in making sure the update is truly road-worthy. Apologies for the delay and thank you for your continued support and excitement for the game, we really appreciate it!"
Community Expectations
Sim racers have been asking for the inclusion of open-wheelers in Assetto Corsa EVO since the first Early Access release in January 2025. The Ferrari F2004 represents not only a response to these requests, but also a promise of quality that Kunos Simulazioni has always maintained.
The choice to include the F2004 specifically is not accidental: with its V10 engine that immortalized the sound of Formula 1 from that era, this single-seater represents a perfect balance between nostalgia and pure performance.
Future Prospects
While the wait for Update 3 continues, the confirmation of the Ferrari F2004 opens interesting scenarios for the future of Assetto Corsa EVO. The community hopes this is just the first of many single-seaters that could enrich the simulator's roster.
The inclusion of the F2004 demonstrates that Kunos Simulazioni has not lost its ability to surprise and raise sim racing standards, keeping alive that passion for motorsport that has always distinguished its products.
