What is Sim Racing?

Sim racing, or racing simulation, is much more than a video game. It is a discipline that faithfully replicates the driving experience, requiring skills, strategy, and a deep understanding of driving dynamics. Simulators like Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, and rFactor offer immersive simulations with accurately recreated tracks, weather conditions, and vehicles, making sim racing a true virtual sport.

EA Sports F1 License Extended for Another Two Years

According to a recent, yet officially unconfirmed report from the specialized website overtake.gg, the license held by EA Sports for the development and publication of the official Formula 1 World Championship video games has reportedly been renewed for an additional two years. This news, if accurate, represents an important signal for the future of the popular F1 simulation series.

The current agreement, managed by EA Sports through Codemasters, the historical development team behind the series, was previously known to extend until 2025. The overtake.gg report suggests that this strategic partnership with Formula 1 Global has seen its expiration date postponed, extending the license until at least 2027.
